Getting ready to redo my grill on my 1970 Road Runner. I ordered the correct paint from Totally Auto. They told me light Argent on the outer portion, darker Argent on the main and then flat black on the fins. I understand the grays/silver portion, but how would I tape up to do the black on the fins? Are those really black? Thanks! !!

Here is a pic for you. The way you paint the back of the fins black is paint the front silver first. Let dry the tape the front edge with wide painters tape and rub it so that it sticks well to just the front edge. Lightly shoot the back with semi gloss black and then remove tape.

Here is a high dollars car that only painted the grill black. You can tell it doesn't look right.
