84 FITH AVE REAR SHOCKS.
I NEED AIR SHOCKS FOR REAR OF FRIENDS TOW CAR(BOAT)BUT NO ONE SEEMS TO LIST THEM.
WHAT OTHER BODYS AND YEARS WILL WORK?
IM SURE THERES TONS

try an R-body

gran fury,diplomat,mid-80s wagon

what ends are on the stock shock?2 eyeloops? or 1eyeloop and a stud/nut (bayonet style)

I allways buy them for a B-body and get the ones that have the sleeve over the air bag(highjackers)

you can get a set of overload shocks that have a coil spring on them also,they would work nice with out the hassel of air lines

you could try the bolt on overload springs from JC-W that clamp on the rear of the leaf spring,I see them a lot on the 5th ave,s,probly JC-W also

I have had good luck with napa finding the coilover shocks and air shocks

5th ave, diplomat, gran fury, pre 83 lebaron, are all M's.

the shocks interchange with J's (mirada, 80-82 cordoba, 80-82 imperial) and F's (aspen/volare)

they have an eyelet on the top, bayonet on the bottom. I don't know if a late B or R has the same shock layout, since they also have the isoclamp system.

shock mounts were never designed to carry vehicle weight. Air shocks and coil-over helper shocks. and are a bad idea to try increase rear ride height and load carrying capacity. the right way to do it is to get better springs or overload springs. a new set of 5 leaf HD police spec springs should run less than $250 from ESPO. they added over 2" of rear height to my 5th ave over the stock sagging 4 leafers....conversely, over on dippy.org's forum, bill55az has found the front segment to be the same length as a dakota, and has used dakota rear springs with good success on his old M body wagon with some mods to the rear spring hanger.

my bad,I get the m,f,r thing fused up

fords had a lot of shocks that had the bayonet bottom end

surly you can find something to fit

I am with patric on the ride height thing,not a good idea with the air shocks...but for hauling and ride control they can be helpful

thats what they are for,not lifting the car itself,just level the load/ride while hauling a boat ect....

if you MUST have them, check out monroe PN MA750 (air shocks) or 58587 (sensa-trac load leveling coil overs)

they're both under $70/pr at rockauto.com
