My 68 Plymouth Satellite came with power drum brakes...I decided to change it over to manual since it's going to be a street/strip car...I ordered a conversion kit from Mancini and the adapter plate mount holes don't line up with the same holes as the power brake booster mount holes...does this thing require that I center it with the round hole in the firewall (pushrod hole) and then drill 4 new holes...or did they send me the wrong adapter plate? pn is AR6719...thanks...(Mancini is already gone for the day and I was going to work on it tonight)...don't mind drilling the holes and it won't be that bad...just would like to make sure before drilling away...thanks again...

When i converted my Charger from power to manual,,,,i had to get the correct "manual" plate for the firewall to mount the MC....
I got a used one from Tony Dagustino here on the board.....
I dont recall having to do any drilling....

I just pulled off the old booster,,,MC,,,push rod,,,,,installed the new "manual plate",,,got an adjustable pushrod ( or a rod for a manual ),,,and put on a different MC.....

sorry i dont have any pics.........

In 66 there were different firewall support plates for manual vs power brakes. I suspect 68 is the same. Also, there may be linkage on the brake pedal that needs to be removed. There was on my 66 Coronet.

I called Mancini today and they said the plate I have is only to convert manual brakes from old style master cyl to new style...? So now I guess my question is can I drill 4 new holes and just mount the adapter plate through the existing backing plate as long as I center the master cyl over the push rod hole in the backing plate and firewall?

yes. If there isn't an adapter(4bolt to 2 bolt) made for this( I do not know B bodies) then center it as you said & drill & you're good.
