story on my 68 hemi gtx was that the original owner went into the dealer and said he was going to be towing a trailer, and wanted the biggest engine they had...

Why did they sell him a 426ci motor then?

I saw this car, and met the owner, at a car show in Edmonton a couple of summers ago.
Yes, the original owner...still!
And he bought it to tow a trailer, and a boat...which it did very well.

I’ve had my HEMI Bee since it was new. I still have a trailer hitch for it; I use to pull a camper with it. I put over 98,000 on the orginal motor w/o any problems. When I had the car restored I rebuilt the motor so I could use unleaded gas.

I pulled a '71 Super Bee out of the woods a few years ago that not only had a trailer hitch on it but the brake controller was still attached to the dash.

They used to be just cars

In the mid-80's at the Nats in Columbus I remember seeing a Blue Superbird towing another Blue Superbird on a trailer.
