If I use 915 heads on my 1970 440-6, will all the mounting holes be the same for brackets, etc.? Thanks in advance.

yes.

I you have the six pack pistons, and a stockish cam, you might have detonation problems on pump gas

I have 915 heads on my 70 six pack engine with ross flat top pistons 990 pin and eagle rods. at 0 deck height.looks bone stock. insane amount of power. i would highly recommend them. polish your combustion chamber to get rid of the hot spots. If you make the combustion chamber efficient it is possible to run it on premium if the engine is tuned properly.

Nice. What is your actual compression ratio, and your cranking cylinder pressure?

I had ported, milled 516s w/ bigger valves w/ "six pack" pistons 528 solid and a 6 pack ran great until #4.

I have them on my stock bottom 383, a true 10.3 with about 175psi CP. They are a great addition. i polished the chambers and the exhaust port and run less total advance nice boost over the 906 even with the smaller valve i left in.

I've swapped out 906's for 915s with a good comp valve grind on several different cars. Usually improves et by 0.5 sec., and 5 mph on a typical, stockish street car. It is so much fun, I keep the heads around and let people use them.

On one version of my 440 I ended up with 10.3: 1 CR and it would blow about 200 psi on the gauge. Would not run on pump gas in the Charger/3.23/stock converter.

175 and pulled timing, I could see that working.

Mine,

915's were the stock head on my car. Original everything ( car in pic) bored 40 over, heads stock with new valves and seats on the exhaust, forged pistons, appx 9.5-1..... Tried to use the light springs in the distributor with pump gas.. didn't like that at all..
