Call EGGE , only place I know of that stocks them , they are near Best so if they don't have them they can get them fast and easy.

I'll be firing up a 383 with a Best rope seal in a couple weeks , fingers crossed .

Not sure Todd - I have a couple of engines going together and I want to use rope seals - I ordered a fel-pro one and the material seems different than I remember ?

I used to do boiler work and I know the materials changed due to asbestos so I assumed the same for the rope seals

I just heard that these were the closest available to original.

All my cars are 4 speed cars so I am looking at possibly buying 4 or 5 while the getting is good :thumb

I have a car quest victor Reinz JV551 rope seal kit. I ain't used it yet so no opinion on how good it is but it should be OK. I think the installation is going to be 90% of how it does

Get the BEST rope seal, it is made of a graphite material, it comes highly recommended by a local race engine builder I have had some work done by. The Fel Pros do seal very long, they are made of a material that is a lot harder than original ... I think original rope seals were made of asbestos.

The Best is well worth the cost, do not settle for anything less, this is definitely one of those items that you get what you pay for.
