I am building a 1974 charger for my son and have all new ball joints. can you change the lowers with a ball joint press that you can rent from autozone or does rhe lower control arm have to come out? Thanks.

hello, been awhile but if i am thinking right,
you can use a press and do them on the car.

Thanks, I will give it a shot. I know 1974 went to press in lowers but wasnt sure if control arm had to go in a big press or not.

Take a good look at it before you press it out...Some of the 74 LCAs had screw in lower balljoints...I remember one member on here was after he ruined one...

Thanks, I already checked them. upper has the kinda square shape for the special socket, lower is perfectly round.
