I was putting together a short block this weekend, and I broke a no. 2 piston ring and scored a rod bearing. Summit will let me order a single ring set, but I can't find anyone who will let me order a single rod bearing set. I'm trying to get a matching bearing (Sealed Power part no. 7135CH-10). Anyone know a place that'll help me out? Thanks in advance.

The engine is already balanced, but I guess any difference in bearing weight would be negligible. BUT would the difference in the softness of a different brand/type bearing have any effect?

you won't notice any difference in them. In fact I wouldn't doubt that they may come from the same place in different boxes. Many are the same vendor, can't remember which other than Clevite and Michigan. As for balance they will not effect that at all.
Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks.
But: Don't fix it, if it Works!
