I'd just google it. This one was at the top with almost 500,000 members. I couldn't imagine there would be a lack of knowledge and advice...

It was free when I joined a few years back. YES, there are a bunch of sharp members over there.

I'm a member of jeepforum.com. It's a good site, and it has helped me quite a few times. I've bought and sold parts to members, and several made parts for my Jeep.

I dont know if Pirate 4x4 has changed or not, but several years ago I used to lurk over there, and it seemed if you weren't an expert on your ride and asked a question they deemed simple, look out! They would trash talk, and bash the poor OP till they cried.

I never joined, since I am not all knowledgeable about 4x4's. I originally went there hoping to find something like Moparts, but that wasn't the case.

We did this to a couple of rigs.

Get rid of the carb, and get a webber, or do a MC2100 swap. The webber is more direct, but more costly.

Then get rid of the stock distributor, use a GM HEI setup. I think it was a stock gm 6 cylinder distributor, with an early amc gear on the end of it. Its been awhile since we did this. I know someone was building new distributors to just drop in.

hei swap

Im a jeep nut with a dodge truck to drag the jeep home after a weekend on the trails.
