Anybody know of a really good hydraulic clutch setup that will work with an 833 4-speed in an A-Body? I really want to convert my '70 Dart from 727 to 833 but I don't want to deal with welding the bracket to the frame. It's really tight in there and I don't want to pull the motor or damage the paint in the engine compartment.

I know there have been a bunch of posts in the past on this topic, and I've read them, but I wanted to get the latest info and hopefully get input from someone that is actually running this setup.

I really like the looks of the one on Bigblockdart.com,they use a truck slave cylinder with a simple bracket.I really don't like the idea of the slave inside the bell where you can't service it if something goes wrong.

I made mine using a Wilwood 3/4" Master Cylinder, Wilwood Pull Style Slave, some 3/16" brake tubing, a sawed in half truck motor mount and a hose for a front drum brake. You'll just have to drill a hole in your clutch fork.

Here are some pictures:

Its really pretty easy to do. To make the M/C work with your pedals you'll have to take them out and drill a hole in the clutch pedal at about the same place and then mount the master cylinder next to the brake one.

Reading in Popular Hotrodding or some such mag a few months ago, they had an article on using the S-10 stuff. Said it was one of the easiest to work with. Haven't had a chance yet to try it myself, but I'm seriously leaning that way, myself, for my next swap....I'll try not to get choked by the "Bowtie"!

Here's a set-up like Golddusters in a pre-made kit.

How about the kit that Keisler advertises? What are the benefits of a hydraulic set up.

If mine had an automatic, I'd keep it.

Thanks! That looks like what I'm looking for. I will check into it.

I own American Powertrain and we have an excellent complete hydraulic conversion for your 833 if you still need it. Let me know.
