70mopes pro stock Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 1,228 Maple Valley, WA	Depends on what you are talking about. 340 shafts are shorter than big block and I believe 318 heat riser shafts since 340 shaft does not extend through both sides of the manifold. Bushings are different between 340 and big block too. You can shorten a big block shaft to work in a 340 application.
