I bought a carter 4736s carb to have rebuilt for my 1970 roadrunner 383 automatic car with air grabber hood. now i have people telling me it is not the right carb and it should have a holley. what is the right carb for this car?

'70 was a funny year for 383 carburetors - I'm surprised color didn't matter.

but HOLLEY is the correct one for your RR! Is it a N95 car?

Yes, what Dan posted is correct, what adds to the confusion is that Carter and Holly used the same 4736 number.

Holley 4737, I think Harms may even have one.
