68gtx OP enthusiast 6 Joined: Nov 2012 Posts: 355	My brother is looking at a 68 Runner on Ebay. The VON # reads A8R (A) and 5 numbers. What does the A mean. I am new to Mopars. I have read it could mean it was a rental or demo ect. Or was it stamped wrong? Thanks larry J

Furyman master Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 2,601 Great White North	Actually it means built for the Canadian Market.That # is also assigned to the dealership order form...which means you can tell which dealership it was sold from(ifyou have a big enough database).Canadian shipment figures are usually 10% or so of the total North American sales. I know I read that if the 6 digit # started with a letter it meant it was demo or rental or show car? Thanks for the info. Most of the Mopar numbers are still foreign to me. Only way to learn is ask. :big grin: LJ
