I broke down and bought a set of bare heads and their valve train set of the new Pro Comp LA heads. The flow numbers are pretty decent and comparable, if not better than the Edelbrocks. I have a whopping $730 in these heads and couldn't be happier with the quality. The service on the other hand was really lacking. They sent the wrong spring cups and had to call 10 times to get the correct ones. I know I'm going to get some response back about them being "Made in China" but anyways here are the flow numbers OOTB with 2.05/1.60 valves. They are right in line with my ported RHS magnum heads.

I'm going to buy a set one of these days to port and see how they compare to ported Edelbrocks. Who did you buy them from?

Bought them from Pro Comps ebay sales. I believe the seller was speedmasterusa. They dont look as chunky as the Edelbrocks. They look a little more like a casting than the billet block thats machined. To each their own.

Making sure I am reading this correctly, but your PORTED RHS heads, wont outflow these numbers you have posted? They SHOULD crush those numbers, but maybe I am not understanding something here...

This all depends on who's bench it was on and if they were tested side by side....

I've seen more then one bench ready happy and the next be completely different.

There CNC version of anything is a waist of time. I talked to them about a year ago about a set of small block Chevy heads I had here for a customers engine. The guy said all they do is map a stock port and add .010 to it. Just enough to show they were CNC's all the way through.

I will look at the SBM heads for a budget 340 I am thinking about doing for my Dart.

That would be the first time I've heard that... most
shops that CNC they do a hand porting based on the
flow then read it to a CNC program.... but maybe that
company does that crap

Maybe they should've stolen the design from a ported Edelbrock, not one OOTB.

Ive seen some numbers from a reliable source on cnc Pro Comps and they are more than just a casting that has had a little taken out of them to touch up the ports

These were my numbers on my ported RHS magnums. These are off of the exact same bench. I agree some benchs give off some real happy numbers. These are off the same one so you be the judge.

As Cast 1.92int -- Ported 2.02int
---- Int----Exh----Int----Exh
.100 67.4 - 62.2 - - 72.6 - 64.7
.200 115.1 - 111.6 - 133.6 - 113.1
.300 163.0 - 151.2 - 188.6 - 156.2
.400 190.2 -172.5 - 230.0 - 188.1
.500 205.2 - 178.4 - 248.1 - 190.2
.600 212.0 - 178.9 - 257.5 - 193.0

Did you ever dyno the RHS motor,or better yet, what kind of ET and MPH did it run ?

I understand the differences in benches. Yours will be a good comparison because if the common bench. Since your in Pittsburg, why dont you run them over to John for a second comparison ( either head)

I'll check them both for free (if I don't have to clean them) but I have a small block chevy engine to finish this week so it will have to be next week. It will be some good info for Moparts.

The RHS magnums are on my 408 right now and don't really care to take them off. I can post some time with that truck hopefully this year. Id be more than happy to let you throw the pro comps on your bench. Shoot me a PM and we can figure something out. Thanks

All I can add re: the Procomp (now "Speedmaster") CNC-ported heads are what I saw w/ their big-block Victor "clone" head.
1. Looked like an attempt at "real" porting, rather than simply opening up the as-cast runner
2. Quite a few drop-outs where the casting was untouched by the program, especially in the chambers. Any claim of getting "identical" ports from having CNC porting goes right out the window when you see that sort of stuff.
3. On the bb head, the CNC program doesn't "fix" issues like the casting under-hanging the exhaust seat inserts leaving a "dead zone" (step) below the insert

I'd like to test one on my bench, considering the Victor (and Victor "clone") data I have so far, but wasn't impressed enough by what I saw to want to buy them. - Brad

There's quite a bit of runner area untouched by their CNC porting.

I know what they're advertised to flow, but I wonder what they really flow.

Are those going to get a different valve job? And what valves are you intending to use?

unsure of valvetrain components. Once i get valves and valve job done they'll get flowed. I'll report back with results.
