The vinyl top will be going on tonight. I went out last night and bolted the fenders and doors on. Once I get the vinyl top on I'll sand the whole car out and buff it. Then the black stripe will go on it. I'll also throw my new red lines on it. It should start coming together pretty good now.
I need to get the side scoops, front valance and side markers all painted as well.
Then I'll start getting my interior back in it starting with headliner, heater box, dash, carpet and seats.

Got the vinyl top on last night, came out pretty decent. First time I've done it by my self.
Now I'm ready to cut and buff the rest of the car and install the black stripe. Can hardly wait...

I love this picture of this bee I found on the internet. I plan on using mine to haul around stuff as well but probably not to this extent(lol).

Shouldn't you have done the cut and buff before installing the top?

If I ended up getting any glue on the car right now it wouldn't be a big deal as the whole car will be sanded with 1500 grit then 3000. I did have the car bagged up but you never know. I also don't have to be as carefull leaning over the car to install the top as any fine scratches I put in it installing the top will buff out. A lot of people actually install the vinyl top before they paint the car.

I also bag the car up when I buff and only leave the part I'm working on exposed. Way easier to clean after your done. I'm actually going to go out tonight and get some of it done. I want to get my stripe installed on it.

The stripe came out pretty decent on it but I've done better. I got a few bubbles in it and I'm hoping they will disappear when the sun hits it. It was a older stripe that we had kicking around since 2007 so the backing came off really hard. I've never had a problem installing stripes but this one was a fun one for sure.
