No repros, and the E body guys know they're going to get the coin for them, IIRC Blue Moon NOS parts has one for sale NOS from the Ron Adare collection, you'll need to inquire as to the price, I'm sure it's a shocker though $$$$$...Some C bodies used them up to 73 IIRC

If I am reading the parts book correctly, the part# is 3488441. A quick Google search found Great Lakes Mopar showing an NOS one, but no price, you have to ask. Perhaps it is the same one that Dayclona mentioned.

I believe he means Blue Star. They have a big spread every year at Carlisle, near to Great Lakes Mopar's spot.

Nice pic of the pristine part in the dirt...That'll help sell it....I think they upped the numbers on the wheel they spin and throw a dart at to determine the price...Would you expect any less from GL NOS museum ???

I'm pretty sure I have one or two of them. I have to dig but when I find them I will post a pic to see if you might want one. I also have some other various grand coupe SE stuff

Maybe he means Cruisin' Moons? They have a few reproduction light assemblies.

I agree Terry, but sometimes a C body unit is better than nothing for a missing unit ...however over the years I have scored a few from C bodies that I guess were used up inventory of E body units with the correct lenses and map light switch/shield...last one I found like this came out of a 73 Fury Brougham model

Right Mike..I've found some pristine units in C-bodies, better preserved than E-bodies.
Most I noticed, not all, as you have found, used a circular patterned lens.
Makes sense they would have used up existing E-body stock.

Looks like the plastic lens itself is the same as the GLOS nos one. Just the switch cover is different. And I assume switch handle is different too??

I'd try making that brushed aluminum/ss? plate if it would save me couple hundred bucks. Then fake the switch.

Here is what I have found so far. 10,000sq ft of stuff in 2,000sq ft of space, and it doesn't help that I am a slob

I think if Dante's C-body piece was reasonable $$$ you could combing that with yours with some mechanical talent and you would have a fine piece that no one could tell from original.

Pop the brushed trim off and sand/steel wool/etc to make it look original. Then transfer that over to the C-body piece with the switch.

You could bypass the switch part of it and have it turn on just like a regular dome light. One less oppurtunity for a fried switch.

Here's the one that comes to mind with the C body lense...By the way, this one is listed on the bag trying to be passed off as an E body piece...

If you strip enough cars, you will see that there is a few different configurations. Some where the lens incorporates some of the internal socket. I've seen a few that have a seam running front to back as well.

I have a few extra so I'll post them to show pictures of the differences.

FWIW, the 70-71 parts book lists the same dome lamp part# (3488441) for the SE and some C bodies.

The same part# is also in the '72 and '73 books for some C bodies.

I believe the part number is from the metal housing. I've never looked for a part number on the lens....
