How did the factory handle the PCV and other vacuum tube connections when using dual carbs on the Hemi? I am looking at using the cross ram when I put a Hemi in Road Runner.I have the opportunity to use a couple of 4510 Holleys but they have complete chokes, PCV, vacuum advance ports, etc. How would one go about using carbs that were set up for single four barrel installations into dual four barrel installations? Is there a way to pull out the little nipples that the vacuum lines connect to and insert some type of lead plug?

I have a pair of 4131 AFB's on a single plane iron B intake going (slowly) on a 451. I was just going to run the PCV hose to a T then to both of the carbs. That way both carbs recieve the same amount of the PCV (vacuum leak) & hopefully that will help keep the AF ratio equal everywhere even tho it is a single plane. This is my first dual quad & it will take some skilled tuning & I want to minimize the issues as much as I can. Just a BTT for ya!

I doubt the factory used a PCV system on a race only intake. This is what I did with my tunnel rammed B engine. I just used rubber caps on the carbs, down the line I may pull the tubes and use plugs on them, just for aesthetic purposes.

I'm wondering about 68 and 69 vintage.

If speaking on what the factory did in 68/69 Hemi's all of the accessory duties were given to the rear (primary) carb.

PCV went to the port in the rear of the carb, distributor vacuum advance source came from the front of the carb base. Not much else to it. Other vacuum sources were from the vacuum tee plumbed into the top rear of the intake (power brake booster, etc.).

As far as any leftover tubes on your aftermarket carbs, I'd agree, just cap them with rubber nipples. If you want to remove and plug them that's an option as well, most are just pressed in so a pair of vice grips and some twisting (be gentile!) will remove them. I'd plug them with a bit of epoxy and then drive in a lead plug, both of which are easy to remove later if desired.
