Anyone run the 1" aluminum carb spacers on their six-pack setup? I'm wondering if they help power any or are they more trouble than they are worth?

Try them and let us know I did some air cleaner testing years ago when I lived in Hesperia, we dyno tested in Ontario 1 block north of the 60 Frwy, two stock 6 pak air cleaner elements stacked on top of each other with the lid on was worth 8 HP compare to one single element No air cleaner elements with the stock six pak air cleaner based left on the carbs was worth another 5 hp at 5500 RPM Using the carb. spacer will increase the plenum volume, which should help make more HP and torque, maybe not a bunch, but some gain is better than none

Thats intresting Cab I cut of the choke tower on my carbs and im going to use only 1/2 spacer made of heat resisting material and dont dare any thicker becas of the hood to air cleaner clearance but those spacerīs whas manly for easyer start upīs after filling the gas tank when tha gas is boiling in the fuel bowls after paying for the gas If that can help some on the heat from the intake to carbs !?

I did some experimenting with spacers. From my experience a 2-hole spacer just adds velocity to the charge and makes it hit the plenum floor harder before that hard 90* bend. Slowed me down, don`t remember how much, was 20 years ago. An open spacer and or cutting down the divider helped mine Also radius the roof transistion from plenum to runner helps too.

Interesting. Wish I had the hood clearnace to try some spacers out or even the double filter theory. My sixpack lid rubs the hood insulation pad on my hood already.

I run 1/2" spacers, mainly for the meth/water injection (and soon to be NOS) Not sure if they help or not, but even with the 1/2" spacers there's no way to use a stock hood. I think it wouls also depend on your set-up.
Ok Mr Yuck i will have to sheck and see how mutch clearence i have on my Challenger than whitout the spacers before i change the carbs Thanks for the warning ! Dident know it whas that tight

You might be able to get away with it on a Challenger w/ a bubble hood, but on a Charger even the stock unit pushes up on the hood insolation. Mine are open, if you do go w/ some, use an open spacer, I have 2 new ones I'll sell you cheap.

I trimmed the outboard carbs' dividers down some (maybe 1/2"?) on one of my Six Pack intakes years ago and it helped a little on top end, but not a big difference.
Or you can mill out the entire outboard dividers like Rick Eherenberg did and totally ruin the intake.

So if i understand you corekt the spacer is better whit an oval hole so i can just cut out in betven the holes !? How will this inprove ? It seems like the sharp two holes in the intake then will make distortion in that room of the spacers or what

Someday I will get some decent pictures of my intake. Best I can explain it is looking down into it imagine looking into a header collector from the outlet. Center is about an inch removed/teardrop shaped and everything I could reach is opened in the plenum. I figure it would ruin part throttle driveability, but had no noticeable change IMO.

Thanks for the inputs, I'm not too worried about hood clearance as i'm starting with a 318 car so originality is not much of a concern, but it sounds to me that the extra air-filter trick might be a better gain unless I'm willing to modify my intake.

I went w/ a 4" cowl. Between the Stage VI heads and spacers the stock air cleaner assmebly is probably 1.5" over stock height maybe more.
