i am wondering why some LRE show the exhaust outlet straight backwards, others go sidewards in an angle. Am i right that factory standard would be straight?

correct straight back is factory.

turn out to the side is owner preference. it helps keep from spitting water/black soot onto the fenders and side of bed.
