I am doing a stock rebuild on a 67 RT with 440 drivetrain. I have the original 727 converter but condition is unknown. I am not looking for higher stall and originality would be nice. Question is would it be more cost effective to rebuild the original or just buy a new converter. Thanks.

if it is a stock converter..i would not waste money on rebuilding it..
but a new one..there is alot better options for converters these days..

If you're not looking for higher stall, rebuilding the stocker would be the best "cost effective" choice.

& either way you go the technology & therefore the improvement is going to be light years away from what they had at their disposal 40+ years ago.
