I installed CalTrac a few years ago on my A body and moved the springs under the frame rails. I had 2" lowering blocks. I want the height higher so I removed the lowering blocks. I found out that the front spring end (loop) will not clear the box that was welded into the frame.

Would I be able to get away with elogating the upper holes? Should I grind out the top of the box for clearance? I race very little these days. My body is aging rapidly.

Hasn't anyone had a problem using the upper hole in the spring under frame kit?

More info on my issues

I installed the blocks block to lower the rear end. I had forgotten that the spring clearance was the reason why I had them in the bottom hole. I have it mini tubbed and I am tired of the tires rubbing when I turn or hit a more than little bump. This was not an issue when I mostly raced it. For more info - I have narrowed the rear end 2". I have tried wheel spacers and it only changes the rub from in to outside.
