Never used RTV on the studs myself.

As for anti-sieze, I prefer stainless or brass nuts, works better, imo.

Ive used silver anti sieze for at least 10 years.Mo leaks ever on both BBs and SBs.Mine were in before I changed heads for at least 9 years.Never leaked and came right out.Rocky

I use Loctite with Teflon and don't have any leaks.

teflon thread sealant(pipe dope) or hi tack gasket sealer on the threads that go into the head. Rtv works, but those are what I usually use.

Anti sieze on the threads the nuts got on.

I always use pipe dope with teflon on any bolt that goes into the cooling passages. It works great.
