Christmas came a few days early at my house. I got my new Hotckis parts in yesterday and I have to say the quality is top notch. I got torsion bars, rear leafs, sway bars and a few other small items. If you are in the market for suspension upgrades and on the fence about what to use, give Hotchkis a call. They have great customer service and the quality is awesome. Now I just have to get busy. Thanks Guys

Very cool car. I love that your hot rodding a '64 4-door Belvedere! I just checked the Hotchkis website again, and I don't see any parts listed for a 1964 Plymouth Belvedere. Are you using a later 1966-1970 style K-Frame? I'm very curious what specific part numbers your using from Hotchkis, as I also have a 1964 Plymouth B-Body. I have been waiting for Hotchkis to release the 1962-1965 B-Body suspension kits, but I have not heard of a complete kit available yet (sway bars, sub-frame connectors, torsion bars, upper control arms, leaf springs, shocks, strut rods, etc).

You wouldn't really need to go too fancy on swapping K-frames. For the installations I've done up until now on early B's has been using which ever bar works that retains the same rate, in most cases it is the early (pre-69) bar and adding out weld on brakets and tabs. The only thing that has been "left out" is the subframe connectors. I need more cars to build the database.

As far as parts go most of the pre 69 parts will fit. The torsion bars are the same, swaybars will work, you just need to weld the tabs to your lower, and I'm using the E-Body springs. The early B-Body leafs have a 21" Front segment and a 35" rear segment. The E-Body leafs are 22" Front segment and 35" Rear segment. AR Engineering make a relocated front hanger for this conversion, here is the link
http://arengineering.com/products/1964-65-plymouth-b-body-with-e-body-springs/
I will be using their shocks also, pre 69 all the same. I'm building my own subframe connectors similar to what they offer for the later b-body. I have a build thread that I started over on Pro Touring Forum I guess I need to start one on here also. I'll try to work on that.

Thanks, The car is coming all apart now to go thru it and transplant the Gen III Hemi. I will start a build thread on this forum. Here is a shot of how it sits now.

So are the 1966-1968 B-Body style front sway bar, and E-Body leaf springs going to be the parts specified for the full suspension upgrade kit from Hotchkis for 1962-1965 B-Bodies?

I do like the hotchkis design for frame connectors, and gathering a measurment data base for 1962-1965 B-Body frame connectors should not be that difficult.

To my knowledge, B-Body 1962 Dodges (Dart and Polara) have a 116 inch wheel base; 1963-1964 B-Body Dodges (Polara) have 119 inch wheelbase, and 1965 B-Body Dodge Coronets have a 117 inch wheel base.

Also, I believe all 1962 to 1965 B-body Plymouths (Savoy, Belvedere, Fury, Sport Fury, Satellite) have 116 inch wheelbase. Sway bars would be the same for all 1962 to 1965 B-bodies.

The upper control arms should be the same as later B-bodies. I would suggest asking here in the Moparts handling forum for R&D volunteers for your suspension kits. I would bet there are plenty of guys in Southern California that would be happy to help you. Please make a kit for the early B-bodies, as they are pretty neglected for handling parts.

Yes. We need to work out the rates and segments for the springs in the rear as well as test fit sub frame connectors on each make/model in the line up. We have a database, just need R&D cars to fill it

Dan, if you need help with trying some parts out let me know, as I would be happy to help. You seen the list of some of the parts that I got from you guys in this thread. You offer must the parts now, I think the only one you don't is the sub frame connectors. I would be willing to test fit one of your latter model B-Body connectors if you would like The rear leafs are for the e-body, but the segment length is very close to stock, just offer it with the new front hanger and it's a bolt in. I think the market is still pretty small for these cars, but that may grow in time once we get a few out there. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately our R&D is a bit more meticulous than some of or competitors. We would need to do the installation at one of our facilities in CA, AZ or NC to verify fitment.

Dan, what is the status of the Hotchkis 1962-1965 Mopar B-Body TVS kits? Will they be available soon?

I'll talk to lead R&D about it next week. We talked about it during our December meeting.
