I have a 1970 Dodge Coronet R/T that my father purchased new. We are in the process of restoring the vehicle (has been off road for over 20-years). I'm wondering if anyone has ever seen the housing of a 3-speed wiper motor painted all black vs. Zinc Dichromate. My father stated the wiper motor has never been replaced. However, some Mopar Restoration Techs have stated it should be Zinc Dichromate. Please refer to the attached file.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

If not replaced, painted. Possibly when the engine bay was re-sprayed?

Tell us all of the stamped numbers on the motor housing, it may not be the original one.

It could be in beautiful condition under the black with the paint protecting it from the elements, strip the paint off and see what you have.

Yes, there is a large difference in appearance/style.
