Hands down Goodyear tires work the BEST on my car(31.014.0/15)but they go away after 30 or so passes. Yes I am running tubes, tire screws, running enough pressure(12 lbs.),have wheelie bars, and I rotate every time or two at the track. My car is heavy(3600)with a brake and low 1.30's are the norm until they go away. Then they become unpredictable spinning and going one direction or the other. Put new ones on and all is well again!!! I race practically every weekend during the summer and I don't want to go broke again this year. Does anyone else have good luck with other brands (longevity) with their HEAVY wheel standers? Car is a 70 B body mini tubbed with 572 wedge. Thanks Mike

Sorry op. not trying to jack, but i have a ? is there a visual way of determining if side walls or going/gone away?
Many times you can let the air out and actually feel the seperation of plys in the side wall.

Like Bob (BG Racing) said, but the biggest/easiest way is to check the runs and when the 60' starts dropping the walls are going away.. I can tell you how many runs are on my tires based on the 60'... at 1.23 I need new tires(starts at 1.19 60')

Now do you get more runs out of your tires at a lighter weight?
I get about 80 runs on a set then I sell them... I hit them pretty hard... just the standard side wall but with tubes... I replace the tubes with every 2 sets of tires... if I run a lot of 10.0 stuff then I can double the number of runs or even up to three times the runs(depending on how many runs are at WOT on the launches with the 10.0 stuff)

Ours last around the same (29.5 x 10.5) 30 ish passes and the 60fts drop off. The car becomes inconsistent and feels loose/floaty through the top end. We tried stiff sidewalls but the car just didn't seem to like them A friend of ours tried out a pair of old ones we were throwing away despite my insistence they would be no good, one pass was all he made! I guess it's the price you pay for a heavy car and hi HP. Caltracs seem to hit the tyre hard too. HTH's

You make more steam than me, and different size tire to boot, but we are close on weight 3740 here, and wheels up, but I have good luck with MT stiffwalls with tubes, screws, I run 31/10.5W/15, Ive run all brands and have better longivity with MT and Phoenix than the others, dont know if that applies to your car much, but have you tried the MT?

"I guess it's the price you pay for a heavy car and hi HP. " I am beginning to realize this!!! Suspension is ladder bars. Car runs best of 9.40's on motor and high 8's on juice. Guess I should be happy I am not trying to keep tires on a pro stock or a fuel car! Thanks Mike

Not as fast (down into 9.80s) and not as heavy (3200) but hitting the tires pretty hard with the stick. Have 180 passes on these w/best 60' at the end of this year 1.34. Twisted an axle and an axle tube with these when I had caltracs, much smoother w/the ladder bars 29.5 x 10.5S Am happy with them

I have MT 1074S 14X32`s on mine. They work well on my stick car as well The tires are 21yrs old tho. But to answer the question : I have REALLY punished these tires. Learning the hard way with too much clutch, broken ladder-bar mounts/bent frame connectors/broken ring&pinion/violent wheelstands. Tires were the most predictable part.

Thanks for the reply's. I looked up the 29.5 X10.5S MT .It requires a 10.0 in. rim and only has a 10.0 width. The track where I race is not always "great" in track prep.A 10.0 in. tire may be borderline trying to hook up my car most of the time. My rims are 12.0 inches The o.d of 29.5 would also mess with my gear ratio. I am also afraid it might look kinda funny on my car being so small(10.0 in.) . It might work sometimes and not wear out as fast but I don't think it is the tire for me Thanks Mike
We run a 12inch wheel as well. Look at the 31 x 10.5W stiff sidewall too.
