Franki Buckman named Vice President & General Manager of SWIR.

Under the mentorship of Charlie Allen Buckman held key positions in her 18-year tenure at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, including Director of Marketing and Advertising, Sponsor Relations and Customer Service Manager, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Vice President and General Manager.

Is that really a good idea for SIR - there was a reason that Allen was dumped at Firebird and the track reorganized.

She can be a real difficult person to work with. Many have used the "B" word to describe her. I feel sorry for the employees in Tucson.

Ok, BlondisH. Cold and rainy up here in Payson today Raul and I'm waiting on parts to get my sled running again - so - I'm bored - and working on this. Can you tell what it is going to be when I finish it?

Guess experience trumps everything, including what others think of that time in the saddle!

So, the new Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park (Firebird) had a big race scheduled for January, but postponed it until November. Something about redoing the track surface...

I just checked and NHRA is scheduled to blow thru in February 21-23.

Yet no other drag racing posted in the track's schedule until then.

Seems pretty shaky that there isn't even a warm-up event before the big boys...

There is a car show/race scheduled for the first weekend in January. There are an ADRA and Team WHP race on the schedule for January as well. It will depend on when they get the new concrete poured. It needs 30 days to cure, maybe more now that we are in colder weather.

I'll post the definite dates once I get the call to come to work. I hope it is sooner than later since I'll have my new motor and tranny and I want to get some passes on the car before the National Event.

Hi Raul - is the existing track surface even pulled out yet? I talked to a buddy of mine a couple of weeks ago when he was at the boat races and he didn't think they'd touched it yet.

Nothing has been removed as of last weekend.
