I just changed out the factory shifter for a unit from a company called Core Shifters http://www.core-shifters.com/servlet/the-541/Core--fdsh--Hurst-shifter/Detail
The new piece works great and is a major improvement over the factory stick. The Hurst stick is very sweet as well, kinda like you would have found in an early 60s/70s pickup. The supplied stick was a bit short for me so I used an old handle I had in my gtx back when, and with a little heat bent it to a perfect fit and position. Very happy with this product and the price was fair, and made in the USA.

That is a nice touch, I like the look. On my 2002, I had a switch for the exhaust brake. I loved the sound of it when I backed out of the throttle. Reminded me of a summer job in the woods when I could hear the logging trucks coming down the mountains
