Big MP solid in my 528, I'll never go back to a hydralic. Check the lash once every spring, hasn't changed since I broke it in. Dave

We have a custom grind solid in the 383 in our RR. DRAM speced it when he built the motor so I don't know the specs. However, it has been great.

All our other cars have solid lifters (flat tappets on the MG, rollers on the Land Rovers) so I am used to setting the lash, although it is more like checking it as on any of the cars it rarely changes.

As far as the noise, personally I hate hydraulic lifters as they always seem to start ticking. When I told DRAM I wanted to use a solid cam in the 383 because of both the ticking and also performance, he asked me "You would rather listen to 16 lifters that are supposed to make noise rather than one that is not supposed to make noise?" "Exactly" was my response.

my charger is getting a 440 w/ a mopar 528 solid and a six-pack. I was told it should run great.

I have an MP528 in my 470" and LOVE IT! CLACKITY colapsed hydraulics drove me CRAZY. I dig the "mean sewing machine" sound now!
