Okay I posted a month or 2 ago. My combo is:
340
4inch crank
11:1compression
571/571 246/254 hyd roller.
air gap intake
rhs/indy heads soon to be ported
pro systems holley 830
turbo action 4000 stall
8 3/4 410 gears.
Its in a 3200 lb dart.
okay I wanna change to a solid roller. I was looking at a comp 246/254 576/582? I know its not much bigger than my other cam but with my heads ported I think it would work good with out having to change my converter.im just looking for a little more power on the upper end. I would like your opinions on that cam or other one please. Thanks

76 dart 318 runs 12.9o @ 103 mph with 1.78 60ft.

That solid roller will be milder than the hyd roller you currently have, due to losing duration and lift from valve lash. Rule of thumb is that a solid should be about 8 degrees larger than a comparable hyd.

Okay thanks. Right now the cam runs out of power after 6200. It runs 11.40s that's with 373 gears. What cam would work good to get it close to the 10s with my heads being ported?

Are the heads ported now? If so, what do they flow?

Did a quick search on their site and didn't see it listed for a small block unless I missed it.

I will have them ported in a few months. I was told that they should flow around 295-297cfm @550-600lift.

You could just leave the cam as is....... Porting the heads will help a bunch. When you say air gap intake, are you refering to a dual plane?

Not the best choice for the higher rpm`s you are seeking for sure although some will argue. Do you street drive this thing? Did the porter say where the heads would peak at lift wise? Even w/out knowing these things my brave soul would go with something like 590-610 lift w/255-265 dur. @.050 on a 108 lsa installed close to 104-105. Forgot........ditch the intake for a victor or similar open plenum........

Another consideration could be your cam phasing. If your cam is advanced you could try putting it straight up. BTW what is the lsa ?

Its straight up right now. LSA is 111. And I do believe the centerline is 107

The head work and intake will wake up that engine..... I really think your good with the cam. Do you have a stock hood? 10'S will not be too difficult........

I think the max flow for lift was around 600 lift.I think I'm gonna go with a victor and around 590 lift solid with my heads ported. Should wake the car up.
