Took advantage of the $199 lease deal for 24 months. I need a ladder to get in! Dealer wanted stupid money for running boards so I need to find some that look good. I'd like to get the single step for each door. What have you guys installed and how much are they?

Dealer wanted $310 for 4 black steps but wanted to charge 2hrs @ $65 to install. I'm thinkin they are just a direct bolt on. I don't see any single steps on Ebay under my cab step search. Is that what they are called?

Factory would probably be a single "side step", (one per side)
For a 2014 the part number should be 82213512, they are on E-bay.

My factory set on my 2004 bolt into factory mounts.
Mine are VERY sturdy and I'm extremely happy with them.

If your looking for individual steps, I think you will need to look at the aftermarket.
Some of those have weak mounts and flex when you step on them.
Take a trip up to Summit Racing if your interested in those.

Mopar offers the single steps That was the $310 cost. Looked at Summit and found lots of full length running boards. Maybe I need some feedback on the single steps? The Mopar ones had two mounting points so should be sturdy.

Buy taller shoes.

At least you'll still own something after you're done renting a truck. Dealership will keep your running boards and not give you anything for them.

Back when I had my '02, I didn't have a problem getting in/out, but my shorter friends (and my Mom) did.

I went down to the Dollar Store and bought a plastic step stool.

Seriously.

I drilled a hole in the middle of it to fasten some string to be able to 'pick it up' while sitting in the truck.

My friends teased me that I should have patented it and made millions.

Only time it wasn't very good was on soft/loose dirt or if passenger was over 300lbs.

I got rid of the truck but still have the stool, wanna buy it?

Look on ebay and get some cheap... I paid like 90 a pair shipped for step bars for my ram. I got then for other people to get in, I never needed them at 6'4" plus.
