Do you all agree?

The three most dangerous words..."I was told".

I have been doing this since 1976 and have never heard that one.

What does the rod maker suggest or want I would follow thier instructions first If the person that told you that checks there rod bearings every 100 or so 1/4 mile passes then maybe that needs to be brought into the discussion to start with also You think

My guess is if the machinist was any good that by the time you receive them they have already been torqued two to three times by the time you receive them. I guarantee the manufacture did it at least one, I would hope the machinist did them at least once to check them so I guess after you install them, providing there was no mock up ever they need to be thrown away already.

However I don't think you will find much validity to this statement. I am not a huge advocate of taking them on and off and repeated torqing of them either. But that is just my What do I know anyway.

That's bogus. You can torque them many time over. As Al said, they've probably been through more than three before you even saw them.
