Well that is pretty much the question. I got my under dash insulation from Detriot today and I plan to install it in the AM, just curious what produced the best results in glueing it down.

Thanks in advance, Kevin

This is the can I bought, figured between my car and a friend we'd use it all, remember there are other places you'll need this and the cost per oz went way down.

Unsure I'd try the small bottle from Lowes, may be the same but you'll need more than a couple of those small bottles even for the dash pads.

Test fit the pads, place a few marker pieces of tape to help you align where it's going, paint the dash surface, paint the back of the insulation (quick strokes, avoid over saturation), Heres the trick MAKE SURE YOU HAVE IT POSITIONED EXACTLY WHERE YOU WANT IT BEFORE ANY CONTACT OCCURS, then press into position.

I had a friend of mine help ensure alignment and that I didn't accidentally make contact before positioning prematurely. Once this stuff makes contact, it's on !

I wondered about the old 3M trim adhesive but it has been awhile since I used any. I may have to go that route since I don't seem to be able to source the Weldwood locally. Maybe some others will chime in tonight.

Did you use the 77 on your with good success?

Spray the cowl (mask where you don't want spray glue to go)
Spray the insulation (flat on cardboard or other)
wait a few minutes
Place insulation under cowl - done

extra hands are always helpful - test fit insulation before any glue

I take it that it is pretty much the same as the old 3M spray adhesive, sounds like it applies the same way and it use to be good stuff. Temp should be fine I'm in Florida, mid 80s today I think.

I found the 77 as well as the old 3M super trim adhesive. I used the old stuff and put installed it today. It worked like a champ, I will check it after a few days to make sure it holds properly but I have no concerns recommending it at this point. It is readily available and most parts houses although a little pricey as it has always been ($22 a can). The 77 was cheaper but I have used the old stuff with great success in the past so I went that wasy.
