I'll likely have to find a Motorhome forum (anybody know of a good one?) to post this Q, but figured I'd ask here since many of you probably have similar rigs:

I recently bought a '97 Thor-Four Winds 31' E-chassis motorhome. The coach is in great shape, and only had 24,500 miles. There's one issue I don't know where to start with.... The side mirrors. The detents in both of them are worn away, and they slowly swing in as you drive it down the highway. Are there rebuild kits for these mirrors? Anybody here have experience with this issue? Thus far, I just shoved a small pad of duct tape into the hinge to keep them secure, but I want to fix them properly.

As I said, Its a 97 Ford E-SuperDuty cab on the heavy 15,000-lb chassis if that matters.

Call your local ford dealer and give them the vin number and ask them what they got to fix it. I'm sure it's a common problem and they have been selling the repair parts for while now. If your lucky, they might have repair parts. They might say buy new mirrors, which I would do if necessary. Good luck.

OK I'm cheap. Who all drives the rig - just you? If so maybe set them where you want them and add a dab of silicone to the brackets to keep them where you want them.
