What is different between 340 and 318 valve covers?
Anyone have a pic a 1970 E-body 340-4 valve covers?
Thanks

Someone posted on another thread a while back that 318 covers were not quite as tall as 340 covers - I'd never heard anyone claim that that before but IIRC the poster mentioned that he had measured back to back.

This might be a good thread to confirm or dispel that.....

Scott Smith started a post about this a couple years ago. There was a lot of good info in there. It should still be here if you do a search for it.

Concerning the 3 tabs vs 1 large tab on the passenger side cover. From what I've observed so far they made a running change in late 71 production from the large single to the 3 tabs, most 3 tab engines were painted blue so I'm guessing the color change were planned to occur at the same time (late March 71 or so).
