Hot as always at INDY. Heres some of the Mopars that were out today. A whole bunch of new cars by all the big three.

A/S Final. Helms in red was the winner

Mike Roth built new challenger:

Teuton Monster wheelstand, and still went 9.53

More later...

Saw a mustang go 8.26 on a 9.40 index. That is just insane. Those cars are flying.

I never thought the day would come seeing a new Challenger hangin the hoops like that on 9" tires. They must have the weight nailed down in those cars good these days.

I have lost touch with some of the newer classes: what is FS/AC that the blue Challenger is in?

The FS/AC and FS/DC are indications for the factory showdown this week. They are to help equalize the blower cars from the non blown cars.

If you watched last year it was a joke, 1/2 a second separated most of the cars. Competition was a little closer this year.

Barton I think ran a best of 9.08 in his challenger and the Teutons had a motor issue but felt there car would go teens.

Super stockers and random shots from today.
Oh yeah, still hot!

Badass-how about Jason McCormacks A/S Hemi 4 speed

Or Hagberg's A/SA Single four hemi car

Other various shots

May not be Mopars, but SS/B is always cool

The new car didn't get done in time. It will be special when it's done.

That's Larry Hill. B/SA stocker. 440-6/auto. IIRC hes running 10.30/40's here, remember air has been 3800'+

He does alot of live post on classracer and has some info on his car in the build section. Cool car.

Edit-Jamie corrected me, the 71 tail lights are odd. Thanks.

I am sorry, it is a 440 6 pack car using a AAR hood.
Larry has used a shaker and this hood. NHRA has been a little liberal on hoods of the same year. Someday you may see a AVS 340 challenger with a TA hood. The one combination that may very interesting would a 1971 Challenger with a TA hood. There was some advertising for a TA that year but they were never produced.

There is a challenger out of NJ. that runs a T/A hood with a 383 in it. His name is Mike Farrell. I think his is G/SA owns the record @ I believe 10.67. I cant remember if it is a 70 or 71. Reason why I asked about the cuda was I am considering taking the plunge & putting a stocker motor together, & pull the hemi out for a while. The hemi shootout stuff is fun, but I believe you have to try 1 time.

Your right on the engine. A neat story as they took it out Thursday and loaned it to another SS/AH racer.
