went to look at paint and price for the stepside. it has a 2 yr only 84-85 green metalic paint.

I found a 78 only citron green metalic, 140 a gallon.

anyone have this on a truck?

IIRC this was used in a macho truck paint job. maybe not?

I then went to looking for the citron yellow. no luck there so far,IIRC thats the color of the charger in DHCM movie.

anybody know where to get the citron yellow?

I think it was called chrome yellow in the macho wagons. Heres the 79 paint options http://www.tcpglobal.com/aclchip.aspx?image=1979-dodgetruck-pg01.jpg

This is the colour (or what's left of it). 1978.

I have the same paint on my '85. Last time I bought a quart i almost fell over. I love the color, but I think that goldish tint in it is really made of gold or something. It's enough to make me do a color change when mine gets paint.

Citron yellow I believe was also used on the tail end of muscle car years.

I found a dark moss green that is for a dodge truck on the same color page.

it looks very close to the green on both of our trucks.

what is the name of the green on the truck?

IIRC it was 2 yrs only 84-85 or 85-86

we talked about it a while back and I have fogot what you siad.

I would really like to find a citron yellow.

I always liked the paint on the charger in DHCM movie, the black stripe with 440 on the end looked good on that color paint.

still looking around and have not decided 100% what color yet.

The citron green is one of my favorites colors on machos. It's kind of a rare color as well.

could you tell me more about the 2 year only green paint? Do you have a color code? My 85 is green also and looks to be something like your step side. My paint code is a four digit number?? I tried to look it up online with out much luck....

I knew but forgot.

85ram4speed knows, his is the same color.

i got the info from him last time, maybe he will chime in again with it.

I really like that green but nevr can find it or it is big $$$

since I am doing the black out treatment on my stepside i am thinking the citron green is the one to go with.

did they make a macho stepside??

all starts will a gollywhopper of a word.. "Just" swap the cab..."just" paint it..."just" add a 5 speed..."just" patch up the bed..."just" spary bed liner on it..

now I am picking what color?

that is one sweet paint job right there!

yes, exactly like that with citron green.

I might look into those colors as well. Ace is going to paint his 74 Harly copper/black so I may have to go with something else.

I dont think I will do a hoodscoop right away on it, but a blacked out hood for sure.

Scratch, its F6 Forrest green, but it is nothing like other years of Forrest green.

Also, the F6 in the earlier years was much brighter. I like the 70's era of F6 alot. If I paint my truck over, it might be the earlier version of F6. Tough call, I really like the darker color of the stock '85 color too. Plus as you know, doing a whole color change and doing it right is a real pain.

Late 60's early 70's F6

'84-'85 F6 green on my truck

Here is a close up in good light of the '84-85 color on my truck. It is definatly one of those light dependent colors.

The dark green is nice but these trucks seem to come alive with brighter colours. My orange W100 got more looks than my purple HemiCuda did.

I did not think yellow would work on the truck but it gets lots of thumbs up everywhere I go in it...maybe it the 440 and not the paint?

I know I'm reviving a dead thread, but where did you find it for $140 a gallon? I'm sure the price has tripled by now.

Anyways, here's what I'm going with on my crew cab, but with a white roof, too. Faded paint and crappy quality, I know, but they're screen shots from a video.

Rear shot. This combo with four doors, dually fenders, and Adventurer SE tailgate trim will be sweet.

Another grainy shot, but at least the paint is brighter.

I got my paint from a local auto paint supply. looking thru his charts I ran up on the 78 only citron green metallic for 140$ gallon.

he has a few mopars out front for sell, he paints them up with the paints in that chart so they look very close if not exact.

I will be painting my stepside with the citron green meatalic very soon now that I have the cab replaced and 5 speed installed. prepping a set of spare doors/fenders now for paint.

I make sure to update this thred once I get paint sprayed on.

I have not thought about this thred in a while..thanks for bumping it back up.
