I have a carbed 5.7 hemi in my 65 coronet 650 vacuum sec holley.the problem is at 65 mph my af ratio is 11.8-12.2,if I steadily accelerate it goes to 13.8-14.2.at idle it's 14.7-15.1.68 jets in front stock plate in rear.it's doing opposite of what should.thanks,sam.

1 carb or two? If just one is there a possibility that it is too small & is going lean. Just speculating here but here's a BTT for ya

1 carb,it's got me confused because it's way rich at cruise.

with the float level correct/fuel psi OK (confirm them) I would lean the jets so the cruise system at a vac level higher than PV tip in is in a good range then work on the secondaries/power systems. When you said accelerate is that part or WOT? (are you into the secondaries and or the power valve?). Carb might be too small/might not be enough psi/needle/seat might be too small. If your getting enough fuel to suppoert the accel then I'd jet down the primaries then work on the other subsystems. One at a time

Take the carb. apart and figure out how to reduce the fuel feed on the transition circuits Another thing to try is to enlarge the idle air bleeds some, .003 to .006 to start with and see how that affects the cruise AFR I drill and tap the transition fuel feed slot in the Dominator carbs. to clean up the the AFR at part throttle I use a # 6 brass set screw and drill it to the size I need

65mph/68 jets/11.8-12.2:
You could be on the main circuit which would make the 68 jets too rich.

Steadily accel = 13.8-14.2:
If you are seeing this while the vacuum rating is lower than the pv rating, then maybe try a four door pv or try to modify the pvcr's.

Idle is 14.7-15.1:
If you have achieved the highest vacuum level with this reading and it is a manual trans, then that should be good. If this is an auto, then that reading may be lean when you put it in D.
