i have the luck to get my hands on a lincoln mig 15 220 v i plan to use it for body panels can anyone tell me if they are good for that use, i am not a welder so i will have to practice ,also is it better to weld with argon or just the wire ? thanks Mike

cleaner welds plus cheaper to run I think depending on local prices and availability. YMMV

lincoln makes great welder i would use argon and co2 mixture 80%20% or 75%25% depends on where you get your gas use 0.23 wire and low heat tack welding
and moving around when welding sheet metal and 0.35 wire for thicker metal

Always use a gas shielded wire when working on body panels etc.

Flux-Core has it's uses too... It's much better at general purpose welding on things like old angle iron and flat bar etc, especially dirty old rusted stuff, because it has the ability to clean the weld from within. It is however much to violent for thin sheet metal work like body panels. Plus there is a lot of weld splatter that goes along with using Flux-Core on anything.

thank you for your replys , i picked the welder up this evening , so now its just a matter of learning to weld lol
