Hi all,
There were two Ram 1500s (i think they were both Sport models) at Carlisle this year that had the 71-74 slotted B-Body exhaust tips. I looked closely and did not see any hangers or fasteners and now am kinda confused how these would be mounted. I want to purchase a set but want to know how to mount them before i do. Has anyone on here done this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

btw they were both from Ontario is this something done from the factory in Canada??

Don't they just slip on and a few screws hold them on or they are welded would be the Only other way

The original tips had a bent flat bracket the slipped into a hanger mounted to the frame rail..

I could be wrong but I thought there was a difference regarding the hanger depending on if the exhaust system had resonators? but either way i'm thinking they will have to be welded...i didn't see any fasteners...thank you

Correct on both counts.

There are actually 4 different 71/4 B-body tips

Plymouth (shortest)
with resonators
without resonators

Dodge (longer than plymouth ones)
With resonators
Without resonators

The non-resonator styles have an inverted 'L' type hook that mounts to a rubber isolator in the frame. The resonator types get welded directly to the pipe and rely on the resonator mounts to support them.

IIRC it was Alanauto (of the infamous barrel cuda) had a set made up to fit his new Ram about 2 years ago.

I believe he's from Canada.
