The heater has been on in my Fury because the warm lever cable is laying on the floor and not hooked up on the heater box end. The question is... do I have to remove the heater box to re-hook the other end and where does it re-hook?
Am I missing something?
I hate the thought of removing the box if I dont have to.

If you mean the levers at the end of the several cables that control the doors you could get up in there & the one that is missing its' lever move the door/shaft to the other end of it's travel to shut the door. shut that one (for the floor air) then set the dash lever/knob so the defrosters up top ain't gettin any air either if you want everything shut off right now

I guess I'm not explaining very well.
The cable that should open the valve lets in hot water is not hooked up at the valve. It is hooked up at the control panel on the warm/cool lever.
I've looked at the box a couple times and I dont see where the other end goes so I'm assuming that I have to remove it to gain access in order to rehook.
In short: cable is attached at control lever, other end is laying in the floorboard.

Thanks for the help. I hope this clears it up a little.

A/C or not?

The non-A/C heater water valve is inside the car on the drivers side of the heater box. Follow the heater hoses through the firewall.

You do not have to remove the heater box. As said above, the cable hooks to the valve on the ds of the heater. There is a tab on the valve that the loop on the end of the cable goes over, then there is a clip that secures the cable sheath, as I recall. Not hard to do.

Its hard to see but its by the gas pedal. If its like the 65 I have the valve might be had to move.Mines been off at the control for years after the cable bent.I just lay on the floor and move it by hand. The cable should have a round wind on the end IIRC.It slips over the arm and moves it.There is 1 or 2 clamps that hold the cable in place on the case I believe and or one by the control head.Rocky
