I've been driving my Norwegian friend's 82 Mustang with a crate engine in it for a few days before it gets on a ship to Norway. The owner said the mufflers are "Flow pros" and they sound really good. I've never been super-hot on my wagon's Flowmasters but I didn't know exactly what I did want.

I got a vid of the cars side by side:

What would give me a more snarly and less boat-motory sound like that?

I had some trouble finding small blocks running those on YouTube but I do believe that'll be the ticket. Thanks!

Watch the dimensions on the aero chambers. The cases are larger and may not fit well in the small mustang location. At least that was the case on my 2000 GT.

I just switched to 36 inch glass packs on the roadrunner and it sounds perfect. Starts out with TTI headers into 3 inch crossover and then into the glass packs and out to the tips. We did some custom bends and the sound came out very nice. No drone inside the car and still a deep nasty sounding tone out the back. I also reversed the glass pack flow to cut the sound down as well.
