I'm building a 440 engine, its got a bigger cam. So does it matter if you put the timing chain gears 4 degrees advanced notch on the gear.

Depends on the cam but generally it will give more lower RPM power at the expense of higher rpm power. It will decrease valve to piston clearance on either the intake or the ex valves (not sure which). will make it more likely to ping at lower RPM's. Will want a timing change (if you want it spot on). All (except VP clearance) stemming from the change (increase) in cyl psi. Need more info on the build.

More details but big cams usually respond well to extra advance up to 7000 after 7500 retarded cams respond.
