I thought I would post a few pics in the Survivor Pic section. I purchased an awesome 70 Challenger Convertible and just got it home. The seller that I bought it from acquired it in 1980. He's had it for 33 years. He had it repainted once to its original color in enamel in 1984. He said he only parked it outside of the garage maybe 3 times since he got it repainted. I asked if it had the original engine and trans. He didn't know, but said he never had them out. So I figured it might be since he got the car in 1980. Well it turns out it is and I'm stoked. Great car, cool color combo and numbers matching. Its all original metal including the trunk which is almost perfect. The underside is clean as a whistle too.

Is that the Canadian car you were talking about? Where was it from? I don't recall seeing it before. Congrats Dave

Nice score Tom! We gonna see it at the big show?
Hey Dave, Got it too close to show date. I dont have a trailer so I always drive my car to Carlisle. I dont want to risk the 100 mile drive without going over everything then taking some shorter trips.
See ya in building T!

No it isn't. I just couldn't get the Canadian car within my budget. I've come close to a few convertible purchases over the last several months. I'm glad i held off.
This was a response to a wanted ad that I placed looking for a driver or older restoration vert. Super nice seller. Car is out of Texas and has been hidden away for many years

Congrats on the score!
Hi Ray, Did you have a similar type car? I seemed to remember that you might have had a survivor black, red interior 318 vert at one time?

True, but it looks like it picked up an R/T hood along the way. Nice car. I had an A66 340 covertible that looked just like it.
Yes, the previous owner said the body shop in 84 decided to sandblast the car to strip it and warped the hood. So he decided to go with a used r/t hood.
The previous owner also had bought a 71 Challenger vert new but said it rotted out. He had the body guy take the seats for the purple car since they were perfect and the purple cars seats were beat.
I found his broadcast sheet yesterday in the upper rear seat back springs so i mailed it to him for a keepsake!

Tom, great looking Challenger. I'm glad I ran into you at Carlisle. I hope to see this car soon - maybe the next Harleysville WalMart cruise night???

Looks real nice! Good for you. What kind of tires are those?
They are 14" Goodyear Eagle RH. I've never heard of them. The last owner said about 15 years old. They are in great condition but I don't trust them being so old
