I've heard good things about WIX, too. Don't they offer standard and "race" versions of their filters, too? Any idea what the differences between those are?

Yes they do.. the "R" race filter has less filtering
to allow more flow and has the by-pass set differently..
I dont usually use the R filter... I've never had a
pressure drop with the standard filter

the jomar have no bypass , they work good at the track but on a long drive on the street oil preasure seems to go crazy. I was wondering if anyone else noticed that?

Never noticed any issue, but I'll be sure to keep an eye out for that type of thing when I get The MoPig back on the street.

if the "r" or racing filter has a stronger canister, use it. here's a picture of what happened to the standard. I had adjusted the pressure relief a little too much and it went over 100 psi on start up. the canister grew and lost the sealing tension for the gasket.

I like the one on the left it holds more oil and lubricates the engine compartment

I put a shim in there but when I put the cap back in
I didnt see I pushed it in farther and it stayed there..
it gave me about 120 psi at idle and lasted about 1
minute then popped the O-ring out... over all the
spring was about 1/4" shorter to give me that much..
doesnt take much to raise the pressure... it was
suppose to be about .030
