I have a # 2806070(Correct for this car ) clutch fan using a correct 7 blade fan in my 69RR 4-Speed , THE MOTOR 1970 HP 440 W/O AIR but has power steering. (I will be sending Clutch Fan # 2806070 out for a rebuild)
Seems to me that the fan using the #2806070 does not ride into the radiator fan shroud far enough and I do not want to use a spacer if possible .What's the rule on fan to radiator distance ??? I have in the past used a after market clutch fan with no problem and I notice that the after market clutch fan is at least 1/2 inch longer witch puts the fan at least 1/2 way into the shroud Just wondering if that will be a issue with the other clutch fan being back at least and 1/2 inch

Thanks Tom C.

No problem as long as the engine never moves, good mounts and a tiedown. I would run the 070 or the Jaguar aftermarket replacement to protect the radiator, as they are expensive.
