So did you pull the head and take it up there? Also is the epoxy strong enough to seal a pressurized oil passage with the heating and cooling cycles? Glad the source was found

Just adding a small heads up on Epoxy. It appears they used Splashzone epoxy which is one of the best out there BUT if you clean it thoroughly and put 2 coat of clear lacquer spray paint on the epoxy it holds up to any alcohol that is in any gas that you may use. I keep a can or two handy and spray it into a small container and apply with a brush.

I see, I thought maybe the head got pooched from whom ever did the porting.

I think that's still what happened... and may have a similar situation with my Hughes CNC-ported Victors in the same location of one or more ports.
