Hey maybe you guys know that this is common. I am installing the original power steering pump and the pully does not line up perfectly with the face of the crank pully. I have another pump complete with brackets that I bolted on as well and it also does not line up in a different way. Is this just a Mopar factory thing? I hate bending brackets or using washers etc...

You also using the original crank pulley to your system?

There are probably dozens of crank, water pump, PS pump, pulley configurations out there, and if you are mix matching pulley's that could be your problem.

i believe the p/s brackets are clear cut to install..no spacers and such, so i would believe that maybe the crank pulley is the problem..is this the original set up that you are reinstalling back on?

Well it is the original crank pulley, alternator, A/C unit and power steering unit, however on a newer 360 block. But let me be more specific, what I am really talking about is the face of the ps pulley is not at the same angle. It sort of slants away, and both pumps do it to some degree, (1/8 inch +-). So I was wondering how precise these pulley's usually line up? Could you place a straight edge across the crank and ps pulley faces and have almost no gaps from outside to outside top to bottom? Just wondering. By the way, the crank to alt to a/c units all look like they line up and are at the same angle. I will probably just use some washers and bend the brackets a bit to get the angle fixed.

a fair amount of em are bent like that. Do what you said (washers/bending) till it's parallel
