I had bought a Flaming River steering column for my 4 spd roadrunner since the last owner sold the original to a buddy of his. I had gotten the new u-joint that connects to the power steering pump stub shaft, and a big aluminum brace that they charged me $75.00 for that i am assuming is for bracing it under the dash. The problems i have are A). The brace doesn't fit for [Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean]. It holds the column alot farther down than usual (like 2-3 inches too far) and i dont have any of the original bracing. I also think the new column is a smaller diameter so if i had the original stuff, it may be too loose. And B). the shaft is too long (at least 2-4 inches). Can i adjust this some how with a slip joint somewhere on the column or do i just carefully measure and cut off the excess. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Bret

Flip the aluminum brace upside down and try that. That's what I did to raise it up to the correct height.

I had to cut about 1.5" from the main shaft. I had the most trouble wiring it. the plug they give you is a gm plug. if I did it again I get try the IDIDIT colume. oh and my signals don't cancel evertime either.

Ah yes the flaming river column, I would never buy or deal with these clowns again. Everything had issues, from shipping to incorrect parts, to failed product and terrible tech service.

The keyed column is a JOKE, stupid rod and linkage to a terminal block halfway down the column. Mine jammed up right outta the box, I started disassembling to fix the issue when i noticed a random nut loose in the tilt/ key cylinder area. Thats when I boxed it back up and shipped it back to them. When it came back the shaft was bent.
The tuff wheel adapter i bought showed up with no splines machined into it, had to get another one, the horn button for the tuff wheel is made of ultra cheap ass plastic, the kind christmas ornaments from china are made from, mine broke first time I popped it off.. oh ya, the signal cam for signalling is botched engineering at its finest. So dont expect to have the "luxury" of signal lights in your car!! man what a nightmare. I hate this column. I am a careful guy too...its not like I was banging and thrashing the parts. I spent nearly $1500 bucks on these products and felt like I got 200 dollar of generic junk. Live and learn, I know I will never ever go this route again... they dont know eff all about mopars either
