Well, I have mixed emotions about this car. It's good to see the ole gal back in action but since I know the real truth about how the new owner acquired the car it makes me sad. Back in the mid 70's I actually helped finish building this car and also drove it from time to time when it had a straight up 340 engine and 4-speed. It was a wheel standing handful to drive car that ran mid to low 10's with way too much gear and was turning way too many rpm. It had 14X32 Firestones, 6.17:1 gears, we shifted at 9K rpm and had a 3.05 first gear in the Liberty factory Chrysler hemi 4 speed. I was in my early 20's back then and now I'm in my late 50's and if I knew then what I know now that car would have ran in the high 9's. The original owner is dead now and the car has been sitting for years. As to how the new owner acquired this car, well let's just say it was a really shady dirty deal! And YES I do have a dog in this fight! Comments anyone?

I bought a car from this estate and have some concerns since I've read your post about this being a dirty deal. Where did you get this information from? I would like to know who this guy is. Can you help?

With almost 800 hits here on Moparts for "The Carolina Cuda", it must be a really storied car. Hope to see it and all the other Mopars pictured here at "The Spring Nostalgia Nationals" at Trails next week on the 22-23 of June.
