i replaced my old analog box with a digital one, as the old one seems to be having issues. car started just fine, idled, and i brought it up to a few thousand rpm, going through the range for a minute or so.
at idle, the tach started spiking downwards about 500 rpm, no change in the engine, but within about 30 seconds the engine at rpm was stumbling and felt like it was barely running, with the tach at 0.
shut it off, and after a few minutes it went through the exact same sequence, starting and running fine, but then stumbling with the tach at 0.
put the old box back in, and it ran fine.
guy at MSD said that the wiring to the distributor cannot be bundled with any other wires, which mine is, all the way from the box under the battery tray to the distributor.
has anyone seen any of these issues?
